Maybelline Dream Nude Airfoam Foundation Review

As I’ve mentioned a million times before, I am a product junkie. Nothing stops me from trying something that sounds interesting. Air foam foundation, yep, that sounds interesting. So I bought it. I actually bought this foundation some time ago. I cannot remember exactly when but I’m sure it was on one of the nights that I decided to walk around Wal-Mart. Or was it Walgreens? I usually find myself at one of those locations when I have a hard time sleeping. The fact that they are open 24 hours is a win for them.  A win in the way of getting my money. I can’t remember the exact cost but I checked on Walgreens.com and the price is listed as $10.49. By the way, the have a buy one get one 50% off going on now. I couldn’t find it at all on Walmart.com.

I got the shade ‘natural beige (240)’.

Things about this product that I like:

It’s lightweight.

It’s a good fit to my skin color.

It looks natural on my face.

Things about this product that I don’t like:

It takes a while to judge how much you should use and it comes out of the pump pretty fast.

If you touch it with your fingers it seems to disintegrate right before your eyes. You definitely want to apply this with a brush. Oh, and make sure you pump it on the back of your hand and not in the palm of your hand. I don’t ever put any foundation in my hand but I’m giggling at the thought of what could happen if you did. I had to try it. It wasnt really that funny but could you imagine someone’s surprise being their first time using the product and making the mistake of pumping into their hand. Okay, getting back to the review.

It is a bit watery when applying from your fingers to your face.

It has that watery feel on your face as you are blending. Remember though once you have it blended it is natural looking.

The foundation does last and looks great even at the end of the day.  I think that maybe using a brush to apply would really help with that watery feeling. The handful of times I wore it, I did not try applying it with a brush. I didn’t like the watery feeling at all. I am partial to the creamy foundations I guess.

Overall, it has some positives but for the price, you could certainly find a foundation a lot better.

Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Hair Repair Masque

20130313-223226.jpgIt’s time for a product review and I am very excited to share this one. Macadamia is a deep hair repair masque and does exactly what it says it does. It claims to improve the health, the shine, and the elasticity of the hair. It does that! This stuff penetrates the hair, enough to notice a change after the first use and  it gives you a soft feel. It has certainly improved my breakage. I have a lot less hair falling out because there is less breakage. I shampoo my hair and condition my hair as I normally would. After I do that I  add a quarter size of the macadamia and comb it through my hair. I followed the instructions only leaving the product on for 7 minutes and then rinsing. I am really impressed with this product and I highly recommend that you give it a try. Not only does it work great, it smells great. I’m getting ready to make another purchase to be sure I don’t run out.   Although, I will say that a little does go a long way. I bought this hair masque on Amazon. I think everyone knows by now that I am an Amazon junkie. I paid $16.95 for 8.5 oz. It is worth every penny! Try this one if your hair needs repair!! I also have the Macadamia curl repair cream and the nourishing leave in cream on order for Saturday’s delivery.  I’m curious to see if all the products are as good as this one.

Herbal Essence Tousle Me Softly Creme

Herbal Essense Tousle Me Softly

There is nothing complicated about using this crème.

I recommend using only a small amount of this product and dispersing it evenly throughout your hair.

It can leave a heavy feeling if you over apply.

If your hair needs a little extra help holding curls you can apply a small amount of the crème to your damp hair, blow dry, and style with your curling iron or curling wand.

It’s great for the teenager that is running late and just as great for the mom who is running late too.

I will also say that you get your money’s worth with this product. I cannot recall exactly but I’m pretty sure I paid somewhere between $4 and $6 for this months ago and I still have tons of product to use. A little most definitely goes a long way.

XOXO

What I found cleaning out a bathroom cabinet

I was doing a little cleaning and organizing and stumbled on to a product that I haven’t  used for a  long time. When I did use it I very much liked it. I almost threw it away but decided to open it up and take a look at it. The remaining product looked the same as far as color, consistency, and even smell. We all know if something passes the smell test that it is good to go. I decided to use it and I’m glad I did. I wish I would have taken a before picture so that you could see how much my lips needed this. The product is Lip Apeel by Skinlogics. It’s a mask for your lips. I also like the cool packaging! It’s super cute and handy.

You put the mask on and let it dry on your lips and then wipe it gently with a warm cloth.  Like this:

Then you put the moisturizer on your lips and “Wah-la”. Your lips look beautiful and kissable. Like this:

If the winter chaps your lips this is a great products. It is a little costly but it last for a long time. Here is a link to the BeautiControl  website where you can purchase. Amazon may have it as well but I didn’t have time to check.

Mindless Ramblings or not

Unfinished

Once again it has been sometime since I’ve posted. It really is tragic to me that life has become so spent on time and that although people can buy almost everything I can’t seem to buy 15-30 spare minutes to write on my blog. I’m confident that there is hope though. I have managed to get some painting in. I’ll talk about that later. I actually wanted to just do some rambling. What should I ramble about first. Certainly not politics although politics blow my mind. I don’t want anyone traipsing all over my constitutional rights nor do I want someone writing their own rules in between the lines. For Pete’s sake! Okay I said I wasn’t going there. I’m not!

What’s new in my world. Well I still work over 40 hours a week while still trying to preserve some of the sanity I have left after my day job and of course being a wife, mother, maid, an artist, and all the others that I am not mentioning because I seem to be at a loss for some additional words. Not often does that happen my friends. You know what I think … with age comes better listening skills. I might have to call bullshit on myself, I listen more when I prefer not to waste so much of my breath on so many of the things that don’t seem to matter. Yet at the same time I find myself doing these ramblings about things that aren’t ever so crucial. Will you take me as I am? I seem to be somewhat flawed. Defective. Ha-ha! I actually love being flawed and defective. Or I have learned to love it. Yeah me! A wise man (or woman) once said learning to love one’s self ..I can’t recall that saying right now either but the moral of the story is love yourself so that you love can others. How I got there we may never know.

So here is where I am at. I have actually been on a mission to lose some weight so that I can be healthy and keep up with my teenage daughter. I have been successful so far with a loss of 25 lbs. I still have more to go and once I get there I plan to shout it from the rooftops and share the details. I have to be sure I can keep the weight off first. Make sure that what I am doing is in fact worth sharing. So stay tuned for that. The picture below is a taco salad. Iceberg and Romaine lettuce, lean beef, a whole tomato, and about 2 tablespoons of taco bell mild  The lean beef is a lot more expensive but it is so worth it. I didn’t notice any difference in taste just the amount of grease in the pan. This has become a must in my home and I decided I would sacrifice the extra amount I am paying for the meat from the junk food allowance.

Yummy Taco Salad

I am loving the fall like weather we are having.  We save on our electric bill and I get more of a selection when it comes to what I wear. Halloween is just around the corner. My daughter has her custom picked out and I just need to get her up to the Halloween store to get it. We have not yet started decorating our yard. Sadly, I don’t go all out for Halloween but I am so glad others do. I get pretty nervous when people are behind mask. It’s like the soul is just there on display.  They can be scary or adorable and I still feel extremely uneasy. Anyone care to analyze that for me? LOL! Rambling again….

With the cooler weather I like to enjoy coffee a bit more. Caffeinated by day and decaffeinated by night. I have found that I really enjoy these flavors and they really help satisfy the junk food junkie within. International delight Sweet Cream, Chocolate Caramel, and York Peppermint patty. Need I say more?

Coffee Creamers I Enjoy

Now some products and goodies you might like to try. First, after all the coffee I have been drinking this to me is a great product. I want to tell you I am a bzzagent now and that allows me to get a product or coupon in exchange for my review. I don’t get the product or coupons in exchange for saying that I like the product. If I like the product I say so and if I don’t like it I am free to say that as well.  Anyway, I received the Luster Premium White teeth whitening kit and Power White toothpaste to try. I decided to try the toothpaste and my daughter to use the teeth whiting system. However, we each did both and we loved the whitening kit and the power white toothpaste. The 1 hour whitening is a 3 step process that consist of a mouth wash, whitening agent that you brush on (reminds me of a nail polish brush), and then the light that you put in your mouth. You press the button to turn it on and it turns itself off when finsihed. It is about 2 minutes and it beeps to let you know that it has finished. Pretty nifty!  One thing I did notice, at least for me, both products do not mention sensitivity, and I did have  a little sensitivity. I say do not let that stop you from trying because my teeth aren’t the best anyway. My daughter did not have any issues with sensitivity. I don’t have any pictures to share of my daughters teeth thanks to the fact that we lost a hard drive on our business computer and my pictures could not be recovered. That’s a traumatic story I’m not yet ready to share. Lesson learned that it is absolutely important that you back up your files in some way. I will say this .. I will never, never, never buy a Dell computer again. I spent two hours on the phone on more than one occasion being transferred and in the end I never received any assistance. Let me just get back to the whitening products. The Luster Premium White kit can be purchased at many retailers and for a cost between $25-$30 dollars. Between my daughter and I, after using for a couple of months, we still have plenty to last us.

I also had some concerns  with my pug, Prince Pugsley Wugsley, and yes that is his real name. It is even on his papers, poor guy. My daughter was 5 when she named him. He had a lump on his front leg. I was so scared. The vet took a sample and said it was just fatty with no fluid. I was so relieved.  I took a picture of him after I told him he had to go to the vet and then a picture of him once his visit was over with.  How could this not make you smile?

And finally I have been able to work on a couple of paintings. Where stress ends and imagination, emotion, and everything else begins.
